Dorothy Mueller is a licensed counseling psychologist and certified career management and executive who comes to Grayson & Associates with over 15 years of leadership and clinical experience. Dr Mueller worked as a psychotherapist and moved soundly onto management and leadership roles in various cause-related human services organizations and the healthcare industry. In healthcare, she managed Employee Assistance a NY- based corporate headquarters of a Fortune 500 company. She also led a NY- based professional clinical practice subsidiary for a global managed care company. Here she managed 20 high- level direct reports, including physicians and psychologists, while continuing to deliver clinical services to a diverse patient population. In addition, Dr. Mueller's business experiences also includes a successful stint with an international executive recruiting firm, where she specialized in placing executives and physicians within the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Mueller began coaching executives for a high-profile executive and leadership development firm in New York City. She provide executive coaching, communications coaching, career transition, and outplacement consulting to senior level, high- visibility executives across myriad industries, including non- profit, financial services, retail, entertainment, publishing, and universities. He also launched, designed, and delivered individual and group crisis intervention for corporate clients in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attacks 9/11. Her approach is to empower executives, managers, employees, and college graduates to maximize their talents, engage in effective communication and self- management, leverage their strengths, and recognize their limitations and development needs, all in the service of fulfilling their personal and professional goals. In her therapy practice, Dr. Mueller works individually and in groups with adults and college- age young adults. Dr Mueller also has a strong interest in treating workplace difficulties, including job loss, job stress, managing one's boss, self- management, development emotional intelligence in the workplace, and communicating effectively. Prior to joining Grayson & Associates, Dr. Mueller served as adjunct faculty at the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business Administration where she taught a managerial communications course for junior and senior level undergraduate business management majors. A sought- after public speaker, she delivered various executive education seminars through the University of Alabama's Executive MBA program for local corporations on effective communication, executive presence, and a career planning seminar for members of the University of Alabama on a Leadership Academy.
